| The Black Cat Lounge used to be a hangout for the custom Harley set, but these days it is frequented by the under-21 crowd--this is one of the few places on 6th Street that will admit minors. They serve a wide array of bottled beers, ranging from Mamba to Pabst Blue Ribbon, and they also have a back porch where you can catch a breath of fresh air or a smoke. On weekends, the Black Cat is packed and sometimes the old building seems to actually bounce in tune with the hook and groove, blues rock, and rockabilly style bands that play here. In make-it-take-it fashion, upstart acts are given a chance during the week to attract a following, with the more popular bands moving into the Friday and Saturday headline spots. |
